Drago’s Restaurant

We are still looking at hotels for the 2015 Golden Crown Literary Society Annual Conference and today’s visit was to the Hilton Riverside. After the tour, we went down to Drago’s Restaurant to talk over some details and to enjoy a meal.

We, of course, started with a dozen charbroiled oysters. These are some of the best oysters in the city and surrounding parishes. I’m generally not a fan of oysters (especially raw) but I can eat a lot of these with their soaking of garlic butter and coming smoking hot from the grill.


We followed those with the Fleur de lis Shrimp – tasty little morsels with a spicy and flavorful sauce of red peppers and peanuts.


I went with the Seafood pasta with the shrimp and crab in a delectable cream sauce on a bed of angel hair pasta. Yummy!

The servers were quick with refills (even bringing out a pitcher of Diet Coke for the table) and to check in to make sure everything was going well.
